The Lenovo Thinkplus XT83 II is equipped with two microphones on each earpiece and the integrated Bluetooth 5.3 has support for Bluetooth calling, the microphones are located one on the inside and the other visible on the outside, but with all that, the test results were not satisfactory, the call quality was mediocre even in a quiet environment, the recipient found a hard time with the echo and described my voice as robotic, this is probably due to the sound treatment algorithms they call DNS Precise Noise Reduction which is supposed to quiet the noise around you and only transmit your voice but its implementation was not up to expectations. You can always bump its performance a notch by holding one earpiece close to your mouth and using the second to listen.
At this price point, good microphone quality is not a must but rather a plus, we have seen devices 10 times pricier struggle with call quality, but on the other hand, we have examples of cheap devices providing a better calling experience than this, especially in a quiet environment such as the Lenovo GM2 Pro and the Lenovo XT88, that’s why I think there is room for improvement here.

With all the above being said, I believe that these earphones will resonate with a specific demography since it has been selling well on Aliexpress so far, that is primarily due to their uniqueness in design and functionality, despite providing inferior sound quality, it compensates by being comfortable on your ear and preserving it from hear loss and wear, which a major failure point caused by regular TWS earphones. Other than sound, everything else checks for the XT83 II, stable connectivity, loud audio, and a long-lasting battery which is all you need for media consumption and podcasts. All of this is packed in compact-size earphones at the Low price of around 15 USD, but I wouldn’t recommend it for music or gaming.
