We are a Faith based nonprofit Organization dedicated to promoting full integration of self advocates with Down Syndrome and similar disabilities into the local community
This past year to support our developmentally disabled students we gave 5 Teachers from 3 Counties in Michigan (Muskegon, Ottawa, and Kent Counties) scholarships to attend the National Down Syndrome Congress Conference. Our goal for this year is to raise $20,000 that amount will cover Scholarships and resources that we give to teachers.
Tickets are required to enter. You can purchase online or at the door. We take checks, cash and credit cards. We are providing resources to help teachers with classroom Inclusion practices for individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout this past year we took 18 teachers to a local conference on Inclusion and handed out over 100 books on Inclusion. During the summer we took 5 local Education staff to the National Down Syndrome Congress Conference. Our founder Jennifer Sunderlin has spoken at several events regarding classroom Inclusion for our students afflicted with developmental disabilities. When we support our teachers we in turn make sure our children are growing up to be successful independent adults. All children can learn and have rights to do it in their neighborhood school with their peers. Please come celebrate our differences as we kick off another year of supporting our students and teachers.
